Winston was chosen as our music student of the month for April because of his consistent practice habits and his continual growth with the guitar.
The Interview
1. How old are you and how long have you been playing the guitar?
I am 8 years old. I have been taking lessons for almost two years.
2. What do you like most about taking guitar lessons?
Being part of a band in the MM Rock Show – that was really fun!
3. What is your favorite song to play on guitar?
Blackdog.
4. How often do you practice and how do you organize your practice?
I practice every day when I get home from school and once on the weekend. I usually practice my scales first and then practice the song that I’m currently learning. I try to focus on the parts of the song that I know I need to improve. After I’m done with that I like to play one of the songs I learned in the past just for fun.
